Need some help, my ph is 7.5-8, but its really hard, how can I soften it without dropping the ph too much

like 7 or 8, I ran the test for Gh but gave up after like 10 drops and it still hadn't begun to change color

I haven't tried anything to soften it yet, I have well water, I do know that our water is high in iron
