Ways to make $975 very quickly!!!!!!!!!!

Oh don't worry, I already have a car waiting for me! It's a 1997 landcruiser, and thing works great! I swear the thing is part tank! I do totally understand though, and I think that at this point, I'm either going to wait till my 16th b-day, when they promised a saltwater fish tank, or just look for a really cheap one! Either way, I've pretty much decided not to spend that much of my own money on something I will only be able to enjoy for 2 years before college! Now, if I find something unbelievably cheap and worth while, that may be another story... I'm going to take your advice and save my money, just not for a car. I'm currently working on saving for my endangered animal sanctuary!

You are one lucky duck already having a car planed out at your age. Though I may be too if I can convince my mom that she should get a normal car with better gas mileage and let me drive the suv.

There is a reason 29g is my max, I am 2 years away from college and my parents wont take care of my tanks. My neighbor offered me a good deal on a 29g saltwater bio cube that I had maintained for him when he was on vacation (he has a a HUGE tank now). But I asked him how much he spent on stuff to keep it going and it just isnt worth it to me to spend that much. I spend like $2 a month on dechlorinator with my freshwater tanks.

But if you want to look now, you could probably do a 40b saltwater tank for a reasonable cost. But that requires you getting the money and maintaining a source of money to keep the tank running well. So that means in the winter you need to find something as well. And IDK about Colorado but in Illinois it is so dry and hot here that I havent mowed my own lawn in over a month because the watering restrictions just dont let us put out enough water for it to grow.

Before you think about getting a SW aquarium... YOU MUST do your research.

I made 100 bucks on eBay in 1 day, maybe you could put some stuff on eBay if you are desperate,

IMO the tank is not a good match for a teen, it would take hours of maintenance and hundreds of dollars to run.

Ok, I am confused. Arent you two friends? Or am I confusing him with someone else?

Regardless of that, I actually agree with Ptrick125 here. Well, partly. Yes ebay can get you money (keep in mind a listing is normally a week). But between ebay fees and paypal fees, craigslist is better. Plus people might pay more for an item if they get to see it and use it in person first.

His first sentence was spot on though. But the third was kind of so so. A teen can run a saltwater aquarium if he/she learns his/her stuff first. The cost might be too high though (main reason I am still fw). And 19 is still technically a teen. But I do agree, an early teen without a steady source of income is not ready for a saltwater tank.

ptrick, dont you have a SW tank yourself?

I sound like a critic, but that needed elaboration.

I'm setting one up, and it's expensive!! I've spent about 375 bucks... And more to come.

I don't know the guy that needs 975 bucks. Jrskater1999 is my friend, and superpilot55 is my brother.

Ha Ha! I have done my research, and feel fully prepared to take on such a project. The way things usually go in my family, if you can afford the main piece of equipment, A.K.A the tank and filter, then my parents will pay for upkeep. Although, since it would be my first SW aquarium, I probably should stick to something a little smaller, just not so small the water chemistry is tipsy. Oh, and buy the way, this Guy, that everyone seems to be confused about, is a GIRL! Come on people, you should at least be able to decifer that!! Not to be rude... I'm sure your all very nice people!;) Thanks for the input though!

I'm sure there are other SW tanks on CL, you just need to be patient.
