We had babies!!!

Those look like kuhlis to me. I can't imagine dojos (which are the same thing as weather loaches, btw) breeding when kept at tropical temperatures long-term. Dojo's are cold water fish and shouldn't be kept above 75F.

Congrats on the babies!

THANKS for all the wishes!

humm, i dont heat the water, whatever the room temp is that is the temp of the water... and during the winter i dont keep the tank any higher than 78 as none of the loaches i have , clowns and kuhlis, are fond of extrme heat either....I dont know i am kind of old fashioned and a long time ago axelrod recommened 76-78 for loaches so always done that... in summer the room will get up to 81 on days when the ac is just doing overtime (days when it is over 95 outside)
my concern is the speckles on the tail fins...never sawn them on black kuhli's...and black kuhli's are not known for captive breeding at all...soooooo
i will continue to take pics...
thanks to all this is going to be fun watching the lil guys grow.....and yes i am looking for a 250 to eventually move them all to, but right now i dont want to disturb a thing...the clowns now that they have grown out a bit will be moved to a tank that has been waiting for them.in another 30 days.....and i will put in some baby clowns and a few more dwarf (sids) after that switch...i am looking for some now so i can have them quarantined a good 20 days..prior to any switches. so if anyone has any baby clowns or sids please let me know..i would like 4 of each.
i have been testing several ways of using ug filters for kuhlis and dojo's loaches and finally it appears i have got it worked out...

thanks for that link,, yup that is what the tank looks like...

well i am still all excited to have some back baby kuhli's....like the article you forwarded to me,,,breeding them isnt easy...

now i need to start looking for mom and dad.

a clown loach seems to really be into digging under the large driftwood piece where the babies originally came out of....so will be watching....
Thanks for the link!!!
Guess i will move the dojo's to another tank..so they have cooler water..i love the 4 i have.....and they tease the betta unmercifully.

here are some more baby pics:

They are really cute little guys! I hope the clown loaches don't think they're bloodworms or something

WOW! i hope my kuhlis have babies someday. These guys definately look like kuhlis to me instead of weather loaches

Congrats!
