We have wigglers.......

They are gonna be beauties!

^^ Yes, they are going to be awesome!

I think you could end up with a multitude of strains. Some veil, some not, idk what the dominate is, most likely standard. If you had both carrying the platinum, you could get a double recessive and end up with a platinum angel. If not, you could breed down with this strain and most likely get a double recessive, platinum angel. Most likely, you'll get a mix of koi, ghost, carriers, non-carriers, short-veils, standards, and whole hodgepodge of a grab bag of a random drawing of angelfish! It'll be awesome! :)

Thanks. Yeah. It is def. going to be a big surprise at what types of angelfish they throw. I will keep everyone updated on the wigglers, as well as let everyone know as soon as they become free swimming.

Do you have enough tank space to raise the fry? It's going to be interesting to see them grow.

Good Luck with them and congratulations!

Thanks. I have enough tank space open to growout all the babies until dime size. I wasn't expecting them to parent raise this time. LOL!! Since the fry are VERY tiny, they are being kept with the parents for a few weeks. Then I will have to move them to different tanks. I put up a sell thread yesterday so hopefully I can move out the fish that need to be rehomed, and free up lots of tank space.

UPDATE PICS!!!

The fry are almost ready to become free swimming. They still have a little bit of egg sacs left, but you can see a few in the pics that are already starting to pull away from the group. The dad is being VERY protective. The female wouldn't be still so I had to take the last pic with a flash. ( you can see how it washes out their true color).

I do have 1 concern though. At the bottom of the group, their is a tan/green ball that 200+ fry are hooked too. Does anyone know what this is? The fry are fine, etc., but I have no idea what they are hooked too. I think you can see it the pics.

If you look hard you can also see the eyes of the baby angelfish fry.

So cool. I can't wait. Almost their finally. I give them till tonight or tomm, and all the fry should be free swimming.

Once they become free swimming, I will def. post some more pics.

Those pics are amazing! You have nice looking Angels BTW. Could the green matter be some sort of algae? It's difficult to see on the pics.

Only time will tell what variations in color you are going to get. Have you raised baby angels before?? They will survive on newly hatched brine shrimp eggs. If you haven't already done so , go buy some at the local aquariium store NOW and they take 24 to 36 hrs to hatch - so you may want to start working on that. The babies wil not eat until they are free swimming and their yolk sac has been absorbed. After that, they will need to eat every 2 hrs -- it may be hard to see if they are eating - but if you see their stomachs turn orange (the color of the baby brine shrimp) then you know they are eating. The water you hatch the brine shrimp eggs in will turn bad 12-24 hrs after they hatch, so as soon as one batch hatches, start another batch going.
