Whats up everyone I need some help...I started a 29g over the summer...started it with 2 tetras...added 2 more then 3 rainbow fish..then finally 5 tiger barbs....The Barbs really don't bother any of the fish except for 1 of the Rainbow fish...They usually pick at the fins a little bit....

Well I just cleaned the tank and did a water change and now they are really going after him...even one other rainbow fish keeps going after him....They mainly go for the fins on the bottom part of his body and the tips of the fins are black. Is it because he is sick or something? ..Idk what I should do? I was bringing the tetras to donate to my moms work so should I just bring that Rainbow fish too so he isn't being bothered anymore...

This is the best pic I can get

Thanks for any help

They're probably not going after him any more than usual, but in his weakened condition they're catching him more often. Tigers are that way with members of their own species as well. If somebody in the school gets weak the others turn on him. Dead fish are less attractive to predators than sick/ijured ones I guess. Mixing anything with Tigers has the potential to turn out this way. They're just annoyingly nippy fish!

I think he might have not been fully healthy when I got him from the store because literally this is the only fish they pick on anymore....

Well I woke up today and he was alive...I came back like 10 minutes later and I thought he was dead bc he was in this hut thing I have facing straight down..I wiggled it and he came out...now he is just like floating around the tank and just swimming in one spot....Is he going to be alive when I get home from work later? :(

I would separate him from them ASAP. Get him in a hospital tank. Do daily water changes and make sure he gets a few extra meals. If he starts showing signs of disease then treat as needed.

I have mbuna, which are some nasty cichlids. they will pick and pick and pick at a fish. I've had to remove a few and let them heal up. Once they are healthy I just add them back without a problem.

isolate him in his own tank with fresh clean water where he can get better.

I don't have a extra tank....Do you think he could possibly get better in a community tank? I was bringing the tetras I have to the daycare where my mom works at....Should I just bring him too?

UPDATE...

He didn't make it :(

I think he was just weak from the beginning all of my water tests are fine and all of the other fish look great and all get along..... Poor Fish

Sorry for your loss.
In order to save most sick fish you really need to separate them. For small fish you could get by with a two gal tank. If you can't or don't want to get a small tank for sick fish, you could compromise and get a small container to hang on your tank.
A bucket with an airstone might also work in an emergency.
