weird fish

I think it's sad they've bred goldfish in into those freak shows, and the people that dye fish, or any other type of animal for that matter, should be unhumanely euthanized.

yea ive gone to that site and reccomended it for a couple of people asking about dyed fish
and yes i do like blood parrots... and i know that some cant close their mouths but at my LFS they had some that could close them about half way, so im thinking about getting one... NO DYED FISH for me though... that is wrong. as for the deformed spine, i dont really have a problem with it, because they can get around easily, and whe you think about it many fish have curved spines (though not to that degree lol) naturally, aggels, for example. i also like the fantail goldfish, especially ryukin. when ever i see the red and silver, they always look so proud and they should be, for they are quite beutiful

besides dyeing, the worst thing you can do to a fish is interbreed it to produce strains, for example, goldfish. i have celestials the most because they can only look upwards and they have no dorsal fin. they can barely swim and die from starvation easily. its the same with bubble cheeks. if those sacs under their eye pop, their done for.

yeah, i'm thinking of getting some blood parrots too when i get money, space, time. i actually like them better from the side when you can't see their mouths. i like the way they look except for the mouth. i guess people want lipstick on them so it looks like they're kissing. Dumb. i've heard they have internal organs all mashed from the weird breeding, but they seem to swim just fine.

i don't know. some people are so against breeding and buying them. like we should boycott them because they're cruel. but they're cute and they look happy and i want some.

to make sure you don't get a dyed one, try to get a juvenile that has stripes and greenish-blackish coloring. from what i understand, that's their color when they're young (one of the parents is a green parrot cichlid), and they gradually develop the orange-red color as they get older. that way you know you didn't get one that was dyed that color from the get-go.

yea when i went to petsmart, they had some smaller ones that had the green stripes, but they had deformed mouths and they had black spot. the tank above them had more, but they were somewhat larger and had a wonderful orande hue. i could also see that they could use their mouths a bit. i guess they gain function of their mouths as they get older.

yeah, people p*ss me off and confuse me to no end. that's why i prefer the company of fish and other animals :) Theyr'e more straightforward and honest.
