weird (got a test kit)

When I first bought the ammonia, I added 2 cups. Basically because I was tired and couldn't read worth a flip. Then I noticed it and had to drain the tank. I filled it back up and dumped it again and stuff. Then I added only one capful of ammonia. And it went up to 6ppm, that's on the test strips. It took about 10 days to finally read 0ppm.. Then I added 1/2 capful. The ammonia bottle's cap works wonders.

My 10 gallon was cycled in about 3 weeks. But now I think I used the wrong ammonia 'cause it contains surfactants. But I added fish before finding it out. It's night four, and they're still alive. But I bought pure ammonia to cycle my 29 gallon, which started yesterday.

er - no point to this, just sharing my 2 cups story. I'd do what everyone else has said, that'd be best.
