Weird growth on fish!! Please help!

Hi. My fish recently started to develop a white whisker like growth on their bodies. My gourami, one of my cardinal tetras, and one of my brissle nose plecos. I was wondering if anyone knew what this could be. It literally looks like a cat whisker coming out of the sides of their bodies (except they are not that long, i would say maybe 1/8 of an inch).

Google "anchor worms" and see if that's what your problem is.

ChilDawg, THANKS!!! Those are the little pests. Damn it. Anyone know whats the best way to get rid of them? and will my fish be ok afterwards and how i could have gotten them?

I'm not sure how they could have gotten them unless you had any new additions or moved your net from one tank to the next or something like that.

Might guess would be you probably just got a new fish in which case he/she had it already and all the rest got it from that one.
