Weird growth

Okay, weird growth fans (you know who you are):

Just found this in one of my tanks, inside a concrete block, which normally doesn't get any light. Hopefully nothing to worry about. Maybe a fungus?

(The white thing is a cuttlebone.)

they look like little pinheads. i cant see mushies growing under water though they do need damp areas lol.. no idea man i do find myself fairly well versed in mycology too
 
yup, i'd say those are pretty weird. do they do anything?
 
Thanks for the replies, guys - I forgot about this thread for a while.

They don't seem to 'do' anything, and shrimp, snails and guppies don't seem to show any interest. I don't think it is something leaching out of the block - when you see them in person, they really look like something that has grown.

if we have a weird growth competition, you guys will vote for me right? :)
