OK so my girlfriend gave me her old 1 gallon tank and it came with an UGF and she gave me a tiny whisper powerfilter... soo i connected the intlet tube to the UGF and WOW.... it seems to be working... really well..

So i thought about this..

Could i hook up an UGF in a larger tank and Run a Power filter that is almost too powerfull and have Perfect water?

It would seem to work well..

Any one tried this B4?

Thoughts?

its better to use a power head or something. set it up so that it pushes water down the tube and up though the gravel. this is a RUGF. it turns your gravel into one big bio filters.

though i am not a fan of ugf it can work. many people here do use them....

also a filter is only part of key to have perfect water. the right stocking levels and keeping up with your water changes play a important role too.

I dont like RUGF it blows the crap up into the water. And plants.. dont really like it.

I think my setup is the best of both worlds IMHO.

You get a massive Bio filter with mine too..the gravel...

And you get a commercial made one also..

Hmmm...RUGF works with my plants...driven by canisters...any thing driven into the water column is removed by the power filtration.

Nothing.

Ok let me rephrase that... how much would it cost ME to BUY what you have...

I thought you knew what i meant..

Mg is right, power heads are the less expensive way to go for driving a RUGF.

I use the canisters to drive 2 of the tubes, and Penguin 660 heads for the other two, on my 90s.
