You have to see this brief video...

Link: Walking Octopus

Wow...

The other video is interesting too, when the octupus looks like a glob of algae moving along..

Edit:
..these creatures are the closest to a real 'alien being' I've ever seen.
I've seen them caught on party fishing boats, and the crew would let them 'walk' around -- they knew exactly where the ocean was and would slither to it, right overboard... strange looking...

The Octopus is hands down one of the smartest critters around. Their ability to adapt is amazing. Oh, and the mimic octopus is one of the coolest creatures ever.

Unfortunately, my connection is slow so its a no-go on the movie, but I watched a show on the Discovery channel once about some scientists predictions about how animals would evolve in millions of years. On the show, they predicted octopi would basically rule the world and will have adapted to swing on trees like monkeys! It was odd....very odd.

I'd like to have one in a big old sw tank...They're great escape artists...I think OG can attest to that if my memory serves me correctly...

... I'm not sure how long it will be on their front pages, but should be good for a day or two at least.
It didn't work.. Oh well. Wonder if anybody else has some more video on this ??

i'd like to raise one, but i dont have a marine tank, or one that is large enough for a octopus/cuttlefish....

I saw one in it's own little tank at the lfs. It was pretty cool. I had to laugh about how taped down the lid was lol. Also my friend had one, but she had to keep it in it's own little cage inside the big tank because of their ability to escape. I think I might try to convince my boyfriend to go for a small saltwater tank with an octopus in it. :D They are definately cool. I saw one show on it and they were demonstrating their ability to change colors. They put the octopus on a black and white tiled floor and it changed to match lol it was cool.

By my reptitive use of the word "cool" you can probably tell I love octopuses.

You can surely say they are very intelligent little beings! I've seen those shows on the disc. channel, and they really are a marvel. I love cuttlefish, they're such cutey-pies :p: They both seem to have wonderful personality expression in their color patterns, so vibrant.
