I have actually full dose erythromycin(maracyn) with no ill effects on the bio filter.

you should keep an eye on the parameters but it does have a history of having no effect on the beneficialbacteria(some anti biotics are specific to the bacteria they affect)

Odd. I read just the opposite and that is exactly what happened to my tank. I had to cycle all over again AND I was half dosing. I guess each tank is different.

When you "half dose", do you use half the amount of maracyn for the normal length of time, or half the amount for twice the time?
