I have a lot of these in my tank. At one point there were around 30 of them. They're good little cleaners. Plus, the shells from deceased ones add variety to the substrate.
It seems that lots of people have these. Could it be that we all have the same species? Even though there are lots of "flat ramshorns" species, I wonder how many of them are common in the aquarium trade.
What's the largest shell diameter than you've seen? I've seen about 3.5 mm in the past, but I'm not sure that was the max because they never reached old age. The Botia loaches loved them to death. The loaches are gone, but all of my current "flat ramshorns" are juveniles.

I had these snails show up in my 3 gallon planted betta tank. I didn't want snails of any kind in there, and wasn't planning on feeding these guys when I saw them pop up. I was hoping they would just die off from lack of food (like algae wafers, raw veggies, etc.) Apparently there was an abundance of food in the tank though: my plants! They ate little holes into the leaves of all my plants. I really detest them now and will feed them to my assassins if I catch them in any of my tanks. If you keep them and don't want your plants chewed up, make sure to keep them well fed. I do love most snails though, hitchhiker and ornamental alike, and have them in every other tank of mine.
