hey a weird thing happened when planting.

I was putting in a plant into the substrate when I removed my hand from the aquarium I had a weird tingling maybe biting sensation on a little tiny place
on my hand. could this have been a small bug?

29 Gallon planted

• (1) 5" Senegal Bichir
• (2) 4" Climbing Perch
• (2) 3" Bosemani Rainbow
• (2) 1" Dwarf Puffers
• (2) 4" Botia Modesta Loaches
• (2) 1" Dwarf Frogs

was your heater plugged in? maybe you need to check to make sure your heater wire doens't have a short or something, as that's often a sign of electricity getting into your tank.

I don't think so because it didn't go away until I washed my hand.
It was more like a living feeling. like a tiny bug i could feel exactly where it was comming from like a needle. But it wasnt a needle, more like a tingly biting feeling. It really freaked me out that's why I'm asking.

I'm hoping it's just some healthy bacteria in the aquarium.

Yikes?

Anybody have this problem?

it's possible that you had some kind of invertebrate hitchhike in on the plants. i've been stung by hydroids (in salt water) and it definitely feels like a sting, they're related to jellyfish. they are freshwater hydroids, but i'm sure there's lots of other beasties that would do the same thing. i'd say if you don't get an allergic reaction (swelling, itching, hives, etc.) then you're probalby fine.
