first off i'm going to say, sorry for all my weird/ dumb questions...

now for the question...

a little 1/4 - 1/2 inch worm type thing was swimmin aound in the dark,
i was watching it with a red light, then the thing falls for a little bit, then swims again... when i was looking at it closely, it the edges kina look like they were waving them selves (kinda like waht a sting reay dose to propel it's self in the water) while it's whole body kinda snaked when it was swimming...

i just wonderred if u knew what it was, if it was common or not...

or if it's evil and i should remove it imedentaly...

a photo would have been provided if it were possable to keep track of the little bugger in one area long enough for auto focus to work... plus it's in the dark.... :-P

ps-i gota lot more to learn, and as alwasy 1000's of more questions to ask, so please be paciant

My guess is you are looking at an epitoke, a reproductive segment of a polychaete worm. Some species transform part of their body into a swimming structure, full of gametes. One often sees these emerging from relatively new live rock or live sand, and swimming around at night. Not harmful.

are they a good sign or a bad?
