a few days ago i started a new cycle, got a few starter fish, got rid of my sand for some gravel and generally cleaned the tank out and put fresh water in, after i started the pump it got murky but nothing unusual, within 12 hours it literally looked like diluted milk and its constantly clogging my filters, so i assume it has to be some kind of bacteria that was in my well water, we have had alot of rain lately, on the plants kinda looks like cotton fungus maybe but never had this problem with my water before, i also suspect maybe its a heavy build up of calcium perhaps caused from all the recent rain
(bare in mind i'm on well water)
its so thick i literally cant see more than maybe 3 or 4 inches in the tank
i put in some water clear but had no effect, should i just keep changing the filters and let it cycle out or try some fungus killer, i already tried changing some of the water which made it worse i think so i suppose i'm down to limited options.

Is this water safe to drink? Generally, water that is safe to drink is Ok for freshwater fish (with some exceptions for brackish water fish and acid loving or hard water fish). Is your well water tested?

well usually when you get many inches of rain your city will tell you not to drink the water and i'm sure well water can be effected as well depending on depth, but normally yes its quite safe but theres only 4 danios in there to help start the tank, so far they seem fine

What happens when you leave a glass of water sitting out? If it's the water, it should cloud in just a glass as well, or leave a precipitate on the bottom.

Nitrates? Nitrites? KH?

if the water is room temp its clear i know, i havnt tried to warm it which i was suspecting the warmth causing maybe cotton fungis to grow, other than that the water is fine, cant be algae, no light and not enough time to grow, i just want to remove the cloudiness, so far ive just been cleaning the filter and disturbing what settles, i'tll take forever to make it crystal clear this way
