Well, I'm excited so I'll share:D

On Saturday, I went wedding dress shopping with my mother and sister and chris' mother and sister. It was so much more fun than I had thought it would be. (I had actually been dreading it a bit.) It went by in a flash though, and now I wish I would have just tried on more dresses for the fun of it since I'll never get to do it again!

The place was pretty mobbed. Luckily, I had made an appointment and the sales ladies were giving their utmost attention to those of us who had made appointments - much to the chagrin of the walkins next to us (oh well, they tell you to make an appointment!).

Anyway, I got my wedding dress and veil and petticoat and what not and then we picked out the bridesmaid dresses!:D They're so pretty.

I made these special cookies for the girls going over..I thought they were so cute:

I'm a happy girl:D

Congrats honey, picking the dress is sometimes the hardest part sounds like it went very well for you :)

Ditto, congrats on the finding THE dress. My wife (of a few months) scored huge finding the exact dress she wanted after only a few stressful trips, so I have kidof a second-hand experience of the stress involved, glad it worked out.

Mmmm, now I want a cookie...

MMMMMMM, cookies. My furure sis-in-law isn't having your luck. She wants something unconventional and is wating for that perfect one. she even asked me where to try looking (ummmm, target?) Congrats to you. uhhh, do you have any cookies left?

Thanks guys and gals. Sorry to report there are no more cookies. They were all gone by the end of the day! They were super fun to make though and I think are great for anything wedding related. Plus, they're just the plain sugar cookie recipe from the Joy of Cooking cookbook.

Well...I'm gonna be honest. I'm having monstruous second thoughts about the dress I picked! When I was there, I really said "This is it. This is the dress" and was utterly happy about it! (Otherwise, I wouldn't have bought it, duh.) BUT!! (There's a but!) last night I unloaded the pics we took while trying dresses on and I fell in love with another dress! I've cheated already and I'm not even married yet!

I'm still not sure if I like it better - its a totally different style - but I don't want to second guess something this important because I darn well better love the dress I get.

Soooo, I called the store up and they said that as long as I come back within a week (before this saturday) they will exchange it if I want to, with no hassle. Luckily my dress wasn't getting here until April 9th...so I still had time. I'm going again with my mom Friday morning and hopefully it will be less busy and my mom and I can concentrate more without the other three girls there, too. I may decide to keep the dress I ordered, I may not. We'll see.

What do they say about changing one's mind being a woman's prerogative?

Oh, the party...Well it was a lot of fun, actually. Suprisingly (and thankfully) the band didn't play country music...which I found odd. A lot of people were all dressed up and most of them went all out. When we walked in people kept asking for pics of us and saying we had the best costumes! I was the only saloon girl there until right before dinner started. Then someone else came in with a dress like the one I had wanted, but pink. She obviously bought it from somewhere and didn't try it on because it just wasn't working. The dinner was disgusting (and they didn't give me a chance to say I don't eat chicken/meat before putting it in front of me). Pretty awful considering it was a Restaurant and Lodging Association event. All in all it was a blast but we did end up leaving around 10 instead of midnight (everyone did, at least at our table...as soon as the big boss left :D )

I never thought I had a thing for cowboys...but I'll tell you there were some mighty fine looking yeehaw'ers...chris included!
