Westminster Dog Show = KKK

I decided to send them an email.... i doubt i will get a reply, they probably don't have the balls to actually speak to a critic.. but here goes:

KKK?

Sex and veggies?

sea kittens?

PETA is more of a joke these days than a real organization.. you are making fools of yourselves and everyone who REALLY cares about animals, rather than making a difference. go ahead.. mention PETA in public, and you'll get more laughs and ridicule than supporting comments. perhaps you should make an effort to get things done, not make ridiculous comparisons that don't actually sway opinions. trust me.. I CAN speak for the majority when i say that your recent campaigns are a waste of money and time.. but, i suppose, it's your own money and time that you're wasting.. thankfully neither myself nor anyone i know is dumb enough to actually contribute (be it financially or otherwise) to your organization.

so.. my questions are.. WHY? and WHAT are you actually accomplishing? sure, the media is covering your public outbursts... again, by ridiculing those of you who actually participate. I would love to hear a response from one of your representatives, as i am genuinely interested in knowing what turns the "hamster wheel" (so to speak) in the minds of your campaign organizers.

I'm sure you'll get a response, but it will probably be a form letter put together by some barely literate college intern who decided that PETA is the best place to start to save the planet.

"Like, we really appreciate your feedback and stuff, but like, these animals are...like, people, and we shouldn't treat them bad. And stuff."

I sometimes get poorly done surveys from PETA. They always come with mailing stickers for me. I return their surveys, always with comments on why the questions are leading thus making the survey answers inaccurate. I also use the plain stickers that don't say anything about PETA on them. I wonder if they spent their sticker/survey money on actually CHANGING laws regarding thing such as making abbatoirs more humane, if it might not be money more effectively spent. Has anyone seen the documentary about Ingrid Newkirk?

I personally have been involved in dog shows and there is absolutely nothing unethical or inhumane in the way show dogs are treated or bred. They are whackos.

this is disgusting.

Comparng dog shows to the KKK, comparing the slaughter of chickens to the holacaust...

I don't understand why people aren't completely outraged by what they're doing. It's incredibly disrespectful to pull such a stunt, but since they're an animal rights group. they always get away with it.

I would be so upset if I saw such a rally happening in the area I live in. (then again, with the multicultural society we have in our city, they wouldn't last an hour with those costumes on)..

Truly disgusting.

What on earth? Dog shows are great. They breed for health and temperament when they do, and the dogs love showing. They're wagging and prancing the whole time.

And as far as I've heard, the AKC and other groups are changing the breed standard for a lot of dogs, like english bulldogs, to make sure that conformation does not affect their health anymore.

Sickos, comparing that to KKK...

Maybe they ought to work on the real problems, like dogfighting- oh wait, they hate bully breeds- or puppy mills, real abuse, neglect and cruelty. Peta does not adopt out hardly any animals, they see them better off dead than with a family. I was crushed when I heard our local Peta killed all but 12 animals last year, they got 1000's in though.

I work right on MSG. It was crazy hearing that go one. I tried looking for those people but they must have left before I noticed it was going on.

PETA scares me. I can't even imagine some of the stuff they come up with. Most of the time it's also very disrespectful. Somehow I'm more put off by them than dog shows...

whether the dog shows are great or not has nothing to do with it. Even if this was a stunt against animal brutality, where it was understood that the organisation PETA was going after was surely in the wrong, it's still extremely in bad taste that they'd decide to compare what they did to how the KKK treat minorities.

you don't compare the death and humiliation of minority groups from one of the most horrible groups out there to the supposed torture of animals...

What's this world coming to?

To be fair, the ELF is an actual terrorism group, while PETA, as crazy as they are, is... well, legitimate.

Still, it's so stupid to protest something so small by comparing it to something on level of the KKK.

To be fair, PETA is more like the IRA and Sinn Fein I think it was (the IRA "politcal action" and fundraising group, that while semi legit funded the IRA). On one hand you have the law abiding protestors, demonstrators, fundraising and legal but unethical law front (the ones that use legal tactics as a terrorist weapon); and then you have the minority of members that publicly are condemed but get a nod and a wink when they commit arson, vandalism, "free" livestock, commit assault etc. Admitadly a lot of the more excessive radicals have split off to groups like ELF, but anyone who thinks PETA is a strictly bunch of friendly hippes has never had their farm attacked, buildings burned, their store trashed, live stock run into a highway or PETA's lawyers decide that you would make a good object example. Growing up on a livestock farm, any tiem PETA was in town in force to protest the packing plant we tended to get a little nervous. Some neighbors took to camping out with a shotgun after a few "accidents" when peta was in town.

There are a lot of good organizations that can use the money, so I have no respect for anyone that supports PETA in any way.
