I am not a DIY person.Which ready made sump filters does anyone recommend? I need a very silent one for a 90 gal acrylic tank that I am thinking of buying.

budget? That really is a determining factor.

Will the tank be drilled and have an overflow?

The "very silent" is questionable though because that is really determined by the pump and flow rate. Granted some sumps are quieter than others by virtue of lack of trickling and moving parts.

What are you planning to keep in this tank?

I don't really have a budget constraint- just want to make sure I get the right set up.

Yes, tank will be drilled and have an overflow.

For Malawi cichlids.

Thanks.

I would just go with a canister filter for your 90g tank. Wet/dry filters cant be silent, as there is a running pump and water spraying over bio-media.

I would reccomend an eheim 2217.
