We've Got Fish!!!!

OK I'll wait and see but it is tuff to think that they might be starving.

They are not starving.. maybe a little hungry, but definately not starving yet.

Never heard that about seaweed being in too long. Then again, I can put in 2 pieces a day that is 2" wide x 12" long, I fold it up like an accordian and use an algae clip and it will be gone by the end of the day and my lawnmower looks prego. My lawnmower and engineer goby tear it to shreds they love it so much. My angel and clown goby nip at it every once and a while. Yellow and Bluespot watchman may grab a small piece of it floats by their home but won't actively go after it on the clip.

Did you get any Mysis? Both of my watchmans love that stuff.

ya, I definately have smelled the little piece stuck in the clip when I change it out and agree, it does stink bad.. but I just thought that is what it smelled like when sitting in a tank for a few hours. I didn't think it was spoiling. That's 2 new things in 2 days I have learned.. zoa toxins make you have a metal taste in your mouth and seaweed goes bad.

OK well that makes me feel better. I just want to see them eat something so I can relax.

That is why I asked thinking that you guys might post. I just read what was on the pack that we got and it said to take it out after a few hours. Next time we wont now that you guys have said this. I just don't want them to go hungry. I want to give them a good environment to live in and we are trying to do that the best we can. I'm just too new at this and have read too many things on here and other places about fish not eating and it scears me.

They did not have any at the stor that we went to so we could not try that. I guess if they don't take the norii by tomorrow then we will try and find some.

I've read it and it does get funky. I use a full sheet a day (1/2 sheet twice a day and nothing is left on the clip...but the part that is stuck in the clip...definitely funky.

Well if you guys leave it in the tank more then a few hours then I guess we can. We just didn't want a Am spike or anything from it rotting.

Well I'm learning min by min so I can understand that you are still learning after being in this hobby even as long as you have been.

Thank you Grins and Ace. I know that I'm driving you 2 crazy with my questions but I have to say that you guys are getting me threw this. I have never been good at taking care of myself so now that I'm in trusted with other living things lives it is a bit tuff to deal with. The last thing I want is to be the reason something else has died. I just want to make the best place for these great critters to live.

I have to say as always Thank You both for your help in this. I think that Ashlee could do it with out anyone but I know I couldn't. Thank you so much for your help.

Sean,

don't worry about the fish going hungry they will soon learn to eat from the clip.....my PBT took a couple of weeks to learn to eat seaweed from the clip now its the first to it when i put it in.......you also get food called marine mix which has brine, mysis, krill and some greens in a cube which has a good balance which will suit most fish....good luck and don't worry your fish will be fine :)

Yeah I hope so. They still haven't try any yet and it's been in there all day. They seem to be doing fine. I will keep trying the Sea Weed and the fish food.
