what about EBay?

I would try aquabid if your selling aquarium things. I don't like ebay so much because they really raised their rates if your selling things. They have lots of hits, but they really make you pay for posting an auction. There is no reason you should pay anything if your item doesn't sell.

I was thinking about starting off selling some of my plants. I do have a few odd ones and I only have so much room for my plants. Soon I will have less when my 300 gallon goes to salt.

I have been looking in to it for a while and I found that you (with plants and snails) you can add $2 to the shipping to make your money back of the item if it goes real cheap. I have sold a lot of it on aqua bid but I don’t like to sell on it. I made about $3,000 on it last year.

I do see a lot of sellers flood EBay with an item and they it never gets a good price that way.

I do like the idea of selling with on name and buying with a different one.

My ex-boss started selling stuff on eBay a few years ago. Motorcycle parts. He found a good supplier and stayed up late each night to list items and pack stuff. After 6 months he quit his job and now does it full time. Now he has his own warehouse and several employees, one of them being my wife. It's hard work and he is always really busy but he is his own boss and does really well.

I really like ebay, I have bought and sold. My husband and I have gotten some really neat things off there. One of the most interesting was a actual civil war pic of his great-great grandfather. I got a $200 coat for $40..like new. All kinds of stuff.
You have to do your research, and it sounds like you are. You have to see if other people list the item you have, if it is selling and what for. You have to be sure that you list all your specifications in the ad..shipping, form of payment, when you expect contact, etc.
If you are buying, you need to read the listing and be sure you understand what is being auctioned....and if the seller undrestands what they are selling. Feedback rating is important...I don't think I'd buy from anyone rated below 98-97 %, and then I'd read and see why people left negative feedback. Also be sure you meet their payment criteria. there are a few sellers that only accept verified paypal accounts, nothing else. I like paypal and prefer to pay that way, then I don't have to waste my time going to the bank for money orders.
You can get stiffed...I bought some shirts I didn't get, filed a complaint with ebay and paypal. The person got shut down, but eventually sent them to me. That's why I try to be careful who I buy from.
