one thing I do is frequent water changes.. I got in to the habit while raising discus
 
Thank you everyone. I had a feeling that I may be on the edge of having too many fish in the 29 gallon (yes the list was for the 29 gallon). I will try everything you all have mentioned including moving some fish to the 85 gallon one at a time -over time as it is in the begining of the cycling process. Thank you so much! All of the new ideas have given me hope when I have been getting so frustrated and wondering if I was in over my head (exuse the pun). You all have been so helpful and encouraging! Thank you! :bowing:
 
Well you can subtract the albino bristle nose pleco from the list of fish in my 29 gallon, he passed away last night. :sad: He was one of my favorites. Ugh! I don't remember keeping an aquarium to be this hard back when I was a kid! My parents were horrible aquarists (used undergravel filters, never cleaned the gravel from it, and never did any water changes ever). It's so frustrating, I try to do everything right and no luck yet. But thanks to you kind people, and your sharing of your wisdom I won't give up. I just wish I knew keeping an aquarium was so heart breaking, cuz it wasn't like this when I was a kid. :thud:
