What am I doing wrong??

Update:
It was scary for the first few days because he wouldn't eat and seemed terrified of everything. He is now eating and exploring his tank more. I only dosed with half the recommended amount of salt because of my cories, and his fins are looking much better. I also dosed melafix just for the heck of it, and oddly enough, when I checked a short while after, there were a bunch of tiny white worm looking things swimming around. I looked those up and apparently I need to vacuum more often. I've been overfeeding trying to get him to eat something, plus, the food I thought was getting consumed before I bought him was settling under my driftwood. I don't think the worms are harmful, but if I'm wrong please let me know. I was really worried that the stress he had would cause him all sorts of trouble, but hopefully we're out of the woods. I hesitate to do too many pwc's because they freak him out, but he really needs the clean water.
Once again, any advice would be truly appreciated.

Well, I lost him this morning. I have absolutely no idea why. My other fish are fine. Too bummed out right now.

amy sorry you lost your angel.
it's hit and miss with angels.

personally I think it has more to do with quality from the source.
in terms of getting young angel opposed to large angels.. it's hit and miss there too.
remember large angels may stress more from transport, capture..this often leads to issues with health later on. small angels may apear more resilient as they ae easier to transport and capture..(matter of opinion ) but they require more care as juveniles.

if you want angels then the best bet is to get them from a reliable source and place them in qt for 3-4 weeks..use daily water changes to keep water pristine while in qt

make sure your water is similar to the water the fish came from..if not you may need to acclimate your angels to your water.

hang in there and good luck
remember many of us have kept angels for years and will still occassionally have similar set backs you have seen.

even in perfect angel water..I still ocassional will lose new fish for no apparent reason
