what am i missing ??

hi looking for some help, my tank i have had 5 months bought it second hand and moved the lot water rock everything!this how it looked when we got it

here is it now

my problem is just started buying coral but they seem to be not opening proper, living not thriving if you know what i mean
coral 1 bubble hammerhead it never opens proper tried moving it around tank
coral 2 flowerpot was doing not to bad till couple of days ago again not opening proper.

this seems ok just got it at weekend.
lights are 2 x 400w halides
amonia 0 nitrate 0 nitrite 0 ph 8.2 cal 450 mag 1170 kh 10 bit high trying to get this right, mag still bit low.
tried feeding with coral food nothing seems to make them bloom! any ideas?

i however, will just say.....

great difference from when you bought it!! good for you, i bet they would of made abit more money on it if it looked like it does now!!

i cant help you with the corals. i wouldnt want to give you dodgy information.

This is just a wild stab in the dark, I do not yet keep corals. That seems like a lot of light and perhaps they are going through a period of acclimation. I once read about one of our members who put layers of paper in between the lights and tank and removed them one at a time over a period of time. I thought that was quite simple and smart. Like I said this is just my W A G. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in.
