I believe a custom built, 20 foot long, wave style aquarium stand would be hard to aquire for much less even if you hired someone to build it for you. If tooldud is around, maybe he could tell us what he would charge someone to build a stand like that. I know I paid $250 US for a custom built terrarium stand for snakes that held three 20 gallon longs vertically with cabinets at the bottom and it has no where near the lumber or look of that thing. Throw in the two 300 gallon aquariums, fish, etc. and I think the opening bid of $4500 CDN is more than fair. (That's only $3,634 US)

Ok, now I need to edit my entry in the "dream tank" thread...

This is it for me.....

I could croak right now and be happy just looking at that setup!

Hold on, I need to run and tell the hubby that he needs to get a second job!

Maybe the "underground" filter is what's making it so expensive??? :p

Personally, I think they probably paid a lot of money for the custom stand and are trying to recoup their investment. It's an interesting setup no doubt, I guess time will tell as to it's true value.

I'd like those tanks so i could change em to freshwater.
