Lemons are great. Excellent community fish, like that good neighbour everyone has. The only problem is you don't really notice them, particularly if you have flashier fish such as neons or cardinals in your tank.
Not that they hide - they are just quiet.
Do try to trade your red eyes and some clippings for more rummynoses. It will not only bring more colour to your tank, but also make the ones you have act bolder.
I have no idea of fish prices in the US, but $4 for a rummynose sounds frightfully expensive.
