what are the water parameters for Pseudotropheus saulosi ??

for example i need to know the ph, kh, gh, nitrite and nitrate ? i recently bought a test strip supply but i cant find the water parameters for saulosi's

please help if you find a link that says, ect

pH/GH/KH should be on the high side, exact params aren't very necessary...nitrite = 0 ppm; nitrate < 40 ppm.

Test strips are not very accurate. Might as well invest in a liquid kit (API for example).

its showing that my nitrite is more then 10.0 ppm, everything else seems good,
is this bad ? and how can i lower it ?

ok ill go for that, but how do i lower it or prevent it from rising??

by the way mel mel 20 told me about you i remember now =]

Nitrites shouldn't be measurable in a fully cycled tank, but for the possibility that they arise during a mini-cycle or something happened to your bacteria colony I would recommend water changes with something like Prime as a back up.

Do I dare ask what Mel said about me? lol.

Nitrite should be removed by the beneficial bacteria in the tank (biological filtration). As said by jpappy, do a water change and use a liquid test kit for nitrite to recheck its level. Also, after each water change, you may use a water conditioner to remove chlorine, etc.; and a biological water conditioner like StressZyme, to add beneficial bacteria.

ops now that you said that i think my nitrite levels are high because i might have over cleaned the filter removing most of the bacteria out at the same time that i removed the white gooey stuff,

as a water conditioner i used amquel but now im actually thinking of buying fritzguard and fritzyme#7

those were my old chemical setup and they worked fine amquel seems to be doing fine too but i bought it because they didnt have fritzguard nor fritzyme7

OK. I use StressCoat and StressZyme as conditioners. They are easily available and very good API products.

oh lol mel just said you were really good with those types ;] loll

but what is the whole purpose of using prime? and yeah i think i overtook all my bacteria colony out... that might be why my nitrite is so high, what can i do to restore some of it back to lower my nitrite?

srry about all the questions too on my other threads and everything lol iv always had trouble when dealing with fishes =\
