What are these?

I'm not going to disagree in the fact that they do better. But, as for health, they do fine in groups of 3. Adding more fish just brings out a more natrual schooling behavior in the fish. They live just as long with or without a lot of tankmates.
And their QUALITY of life suffers. We should all strive to have pets that are both healthy AND happy.
Take care,
Mary.

How many schools of rainbowfish have you kept?
Which species?
How many in groups of three and how many in more than that?
How long did they live in each instance?

Schooling behaviour is normal behavior. Why would you want to promote abnormal behavior?

Hey REGEHR28, Is that just your filter making that waterfall because it looks cool?

Thier airstones. Look here to find many other things that you can do with an air pump and air difussers.

EDIT: This to.

What exactly are you trying to get at? I would ask the same, but frankly it doesn't matter. And I'm not promoting abnormal behavior, don't jump to conclusions just because you think you are right. Picking apart my post is childish. Nothing is wrong with keeping the fish in his stated aquarium in a group smaller than 6. Other species of rainbow fish have absolutly no continuity in this topic. As does my experience with them. Stop trying to pick a fight, or continue and argument. He asked for advice and I gave him mine. You need to give him yours without attacking the posts of everyone else. Is it really that hard for you to do? Nobody was stating anything that was dangerous to his fish.

msouth, your not promoting abnormal behavior by not having them in a proper school, your not letting them have normal behavior.
