So...there isn't actually enough nerve or brain in a bee to have all that preprogrammed.

Also... I just have to finish by saying that I think that's a very large and unsubstantiated claim. Especially when you think about all the information DNA contains... which is contained inside a small part of a cell... which is already so tiny we can't see. And it's certainly larger than the brain of fish. (Which is probably visable to the naked eye.)

Fish (and some men) only have three thoughts:

1. Can I eat it? or more often "Food! Food? Foooooood!?!?"
2. Can/will it eat me? or just "Ahhhhhhhhhhh, nonononononono!"
3. Can I spawn with it? or merely "lookin' good fishie babe"

OK this subject is going to be debated for as long as humans and fish both live on this planet.

My fish talk to me though. They tell me stories and other things.


How is it a fish knows that it is food time? (or was this breed into them LOL)

How is it a fish is always thinking can humans think or are they driven by another force? (Sure you are you have them and so do fish you don't have to learn to pooo or pee do you)

Oh yea and as far as them 3 thoughts go (GIVE ME BACK MY RIB)

Remember when people always thought that fish have a 3 second memory span and that they didn't have the brain capacity to feel pain?

Well I know better than that now. If they can't think, then how do my fish know I am the one who feeds them? And they obviously can feel pain.

For the record, I didn't say fish can't think, or that they can't feel pain. They do learn and adapt, obviously. Fishing in a highly fished area guarantees you better know what you're doing. I don't believe for a minute that they have the ability to reason or understand beyond basic preservation and reproduction. That's where the instinct comes in that motivates them to guard their territory and seek out mates and food. Just in case there's any confusion because I brought up the term 'instinct'... just because they use/have instinct instead of reason doesn't give anyone the right to assume that they can't feel pain or can tolerate inhumane conditions. They DO have a brain with nerve endings - of course they feel pain. And they do have the capacity to learn and add to their instinct-supplied knowledge of what is food, what is not, how to hide, how to eat, possibly even where to migrate, spawn. But beyond that, I doubt if they associate us with anything other than 'safe' and 'food.' It's my feelings that instinct drives and motivates them, but to a limited extent their ability to think and add to that basic knowledge tells them what a badly placed lure looks like. *lol*
