Many people look over sony, but as it turns out they are great! Although cannon and nikon lead in dslr's my sony has served my quite well... I have an A-100 and i love it. If you get one though I would suggest a newer model as the A-100 is about 1 1/2 old. Check out my website to see some of the shots I've taken with it.
