I have a 72G SW - Will a 24G RO/DI unit be enough or shoudl I consider buying a larger capacity. The issue is I just saw an ad for a almost new 24GPD Kent Maxima unit at a good price-but thought I shoudl ask you guys before I purchase this

I would buy the biggest unit you can afford. You will be better off if you need it in an emergency as it will make water faster.

I'd suggest a unit with a 75 gpd membrane. The cost will be hardly different from a unit with a lower gpd rating, but the rejection rate of the 75 gpd membranes is better than a 100 gpd membrane. Besides, the ratings are under ideal incoming water temp and pressure conditions. It's a struggle for many of us to always acheive those conditions, and a 10F or 10psi change in the incoming water can have a significant impact on the production rate. It's bad enough waiting almost 2 hours to make 5 g of water -- couldn't imagine waiting 5 or more hours to make 5 g with a 24 gpd membrane.

Hi Thanks for taking time to write the tip. OK Let me go and shop for ra larger RO unit as advised by you

i agree compleatly

I have a 74GPD with a 40-gallon tank and an adaptor to fit the Python on perfectly. Still in the process of running a line up to the kitchen sink, but the water's plentiful. It's good for water changes, top-offs, drinking water and water for the dogs. The larger tank and system and you have, the more you can do with it depending on your needs.
