I have always used Stress Coat and yesterday when I went to this fish store they told me that Aqua Plus is supposedly better. I was just wondering which one should I get next time: Aqua Plus, Stress Coat, or something else?

I used Stress Coat for a long time, and still do on occaision. Right now I use Prime, b/c you can treat 5 times as much water with an equal volume of Prime as you can w/ Stress Coat, and I'm treating about 275 gallons/week. It's well recommended and less expensive in the long run.

Do you have chlorine or chloramine. With Chlorine any cheap dechlorinator will work fine. With chloramine if you are changing rather small volumes of water the same stuff will work but with bigger changes it is important to use one that deals with the left over ammonia. Prime and Amquel seem to be the better choices.

I have chloramines in my tap water and I have tried both Amquel and Prime. I prefer Prime for the reason stated above, it's concentrated so I use less.

I use AZOO aquaguard, seems to do the job pretty well.
