noone else uses amquel?

Doesn't anyone use good old sodium thiosulfate? This is the active ingredient in all of these commercial dechlorinators that people are using.

1 lb for $3.25 - mix with 1 gal of water and you've got your dechlorinator! 1 drop will treat 1 gal of H20 for most people's water. That's a lot of dechlor!

Also, I often age my water in a drum for 24 hrs (just aerate with an airstone) to let the chlorine off-gas on it's own. In this case, you need *no* dechlor. at all and the water is super stable for fish like discus and rams.

Also, if you have chloramines, continue to use prime as those are different than just chlorine.

Prime or Safe (which is powdered Prime)

I have used a number of products over the years such as stress coat and amquel plus. Now I use Prime and I like it the best. The LFS where I work does not carry this product though. I guess I got some more educating to do.
