i was going to get another plant for my tank and i was wondering if there was anything special i need to do before putting it in my tank? I'm not worried about snails because this is for my puffer tank.

maybe i worded it wrong
can i just take the plant from my LFS and stick it in my tank without worrying about bringing anything bad in to my tank? (other then snails)

Sometimes I add it directly and others I rinse under tap water for a little first. If you really want to disinfect it and make sure nothing gets into your tank dip the plants in a mild bleach solution (19 parts water and 1 part bleach). Dip for less than a minute, especially fragile plants.
