As the title says...

as in who do u give them to?

Seems that fish stores are less willing to give you store credit these days. I used to breed both American and African cichlids and would trade them in for credit. It became a self-supporting hobby.

I've got a bunch of newly hatched Midas Cichlid fry and I'm wondering if it will be worth the effort to setup a 10 gallon and raise them. I'm not sure what I will do with them in a few months when they get bigger. Maybe someone local will want to trade for them....

Maybe my favorite LFS is run by a softie, but I have had no trouble getting rid of many broods of cylindricus and platy fry. Then again, I don't haggle much over the trade-in value.

Probably depends on the species, though. Cylindricus are still a bit rare, and platies are "bread and butter" fish that sell fast. Might be harder to get rid of convicts or red devils.

I have no problems getting rid of my fry, mostly i keep them but I do have store workers ask for some of my fish, such as my dwarf livebearers and endlers. I also will pass them on to friends. A trio here, a trio there and soon you are passing out your populations.
But good quality live bearers are always an easy sell. They are fast selling fish and if you have some really pretty fish, they are snatched up really fast.
