What is your way of keeping your Java Moss from getting kicked up and sucked out?

I run an emperor 400 on my 55G and don't have a problem with it. Most of my moss is tied to my driftwood but there is plenty that is loose on the bottom of the tank that stays right where I leave it.

Yea pretty much just tie it down to something with fishing line. I have it tied down to my drift wood, after a while it will root into the structure and you can take off the line if you want.

all my moss is loose, and none of it gets sucked up into the filter unless it's dead material.

I tied my java moss to driftwood in my tank with fishing line and two days later I cut the line and it has rooted and stayed there since. The few loose strands I do have find the bottom and stay there with the fish moving them around and they eventually attached themselves to something else in the tank and start growing.

If your fish are "kicking" them up then tied them down. Or perhaps you have too much flow in the tank moving it about?

I find Java moss grows quicker when it's in the path of moving water like from your filter or power heads etc... definitely requires tying down though.

Love the avatar! :fairy:

Mine is lose and my Pleco keeps flinging it up. I never had trouble before him.
Can you tie it to rock or does it hace to be wood? I think, know, I have to give him away. He is too big and up roots at least 2 plants a night.
My tetras love my new thing of hornwort :)
