What do you do with a "problem" fish?

I have a hyper-agressive Opaline Gourami that is just causing too many problems, but I don't feel like I can just flush him. But he is making the tank unpleasent, and life hell for the other fish.
Any ideas?
 
Please don't flush your fish just because he's being rude. If I did that, I'd have a backed-up toilet and a septic system full of fishies! :eek:

All kidding aside........you could take him back to the pet store, get a tank divider or another tank.

Fish store won't take live fish back, sadly. I won't flush him, he is just on the verge of killing other fish. It is a little beyond rude! Seperation might work. Have to give it a shot.
 
well, if the LFS won't take back live fish... have a cat?

All kidding aside: Are there other gouramis in this tank? Sometimes a buddy or 2 can help by making him establish himself with others of his kind and size. This may sort of keep him in check. Just for reference, how big is your tank?

There are three opalines in a 29 gallon. They are still too young to sex, but from behavior it seems as though we have 2 males and a female. One of them is making life hell for the female and the school of 7 rasboras.
