What do you do with dead fish?

I'm just curious about what everyone does with fish that have died. I usually flush mine, but I only have small fish. What would you do with bigger fish? What do you do?

I've just thrown out my larger fish that have died.

If its not the wintertime, I bury them in the garden. If the ground is frozen, they usually just go into the trash.

I would be interested in trying them as compost but I worry my dog would dig them up.

Hmm...compost manuals usually say not to use meat, fats, bones, etc. so that's why I don't put them in there. I just open the back door and throw them out into the yard. If it's a fish I particularly loved, I have taken the time to actually bury it.

i have a small burial plot reserved in my parents' flower garden for when any of my larger fish pass away, since they don't flush so well. small fish get the porcelain goodbye.
