I don't have my fish yet, but I have my food. Hikari A pellets, Hikari Frozen Brine Shrimp, Hikari Marine Diet, Hikari Angel Diet (they need their vegetables), Sally's Krill (finely chopped), and Sally's Silversides (finely chopped). I feed one of these once a day, with a fast day on Saturdays. I also will throw in Hikari Algae wafers and Hikari Sinking wafers for those who need. I like Hikari. I was thinking about trying that Spectrum stuff though. I've never seen so much hype over a flake food.

has anyone read Dr Rons article on feeding?
What do you think? Is that going to change what and how you feed? What the heck is a good low quality food anyway?????=)

Heedicus, I have'nt read the Dr.'s article, but kinda got the gist of it. I must say I've actually experimented doing that very thing. Instead of my usual menu, I concentrated on brine shrimp to help see if it helped reduce my algae problem. No good. Of course it probably was not carried out in a proper scientific method, and there's prolly less nutritious foods than brine, yada yada yada. So, I myself am just back to the usual feeding:

frozen brine, frozen bloodworm, frozen silversides, Tetra Krill-E, Omeg One veggie flakes, frozen clam, live clams, frozen trigger formula, Seaweed Selects (red and green algae), and occasional freeze-dried tubifex.

I have a clown trigger and purple tang.

This is what I do:

Hikari marine s
Hikari mega marine, brine shrimp, krill, all frozen
Ocean Nutrition formula 1 and 2 pellets
Nori seaweed from an oriental market
Shrimp (with shell), squid, clam from my supermarket
Spinach, romane lettuce
Clam juice
Kent garlic xtreme and kent zoecon

Blend everything together and freeze it in an ice cube tray. Break from tray and put in glad bags in the freezer.

Take one frozen cube and slice into little pices and keep those pieces in a container in the freezer.

I feed all of my fish foods mainly by Ocean Nutrition. I have tons of fish ranging from Angels, to Cardinals, to Eels, to Groupers (Clown), Lions, to Puffers, to Triggers and Wrasses. They all get Formula One, Formula Two, Prime Reef, Brine Shrimp Plus, Spiralina Formula, Special Formula VHP, Trigger Formula, and Angel formula. They also get dried algaes by Julian Sprung, and the ocassional live ghost shrimp (for the Radiata Lion, and a game for the Wrasses and Triggers). I also have a 3ft Zebra Moray Eel that eats Frozen Scallops and Frozen Cocktail Shrimp. I alter all the above foods on a rotation every couple of days it repeats.

I'm with Casino. I feed blender mush (except I freeze mine in eggcrate until frozen, then break out the pieces. Perfect 1 feeding size!). I also feed Capelin roe, nori, and use extreme garlic (a must, I feel, with a Tang in the tank). I feed all the nori they want, and once a day either mush or roe. I feed 4 days in a row, alternateing foods, then have a fast day, with the exception of nori. I also use DT's (when I have it, not too often) and Beta-Meal from Inland Aquatics after the lights go out every other night for the corals. Must work. The tank is happy!:D

I also use xtreme garlic. The nori I put on a clip is soaked in garlic and zoecon. The garlic is more of an appetite additive, makes the fish want to eat. The zoecon has amino fatty acids and vitamins, garlic dosent. It dosent hurt or make it better to use garlic IMO. I started with it to make my fish eat. Its also good if your fish have parasites or wounds.
