What Do You Say?

Wait - in Scotland, Coke, Pepsi, etc. are called juice? So if you'd like an orange juice, you ask for orange juice. If you want an Orange Crush... you could ask for orange juice... really? Bizarre. If I go to Scotland, I'll be sure to ask for things by brand name :D

Yup! Usually you ask what kind of juice the cafe has and they tell you, coke, dr pepper, fresh orange etc! But its all brand name over here! :thm:

lol. Right enough. I'll often tell my co-workers that I'm going down for a can of juice and they assume I mean fruit juice, when I really mean coke. Old habits die hard.

Nae Irn Bru here though, Shaz.

I hope no one ever does the same to you when you ask for an Aspirin or want to go rollerblading...

Actually, I ask for Ibuprofen, because it's what works best for me.

And if I were even a little bit athletic, i might go skating, but that's far too active for my taste. :D

On a similar subject... I work as a cashier at a local grocery store. I've noticed there are people who ask for paper bags and there are people who ask for brown bags. Which are you?

Here in Toronto we don't have the option - it's plastic or nothing. Unless you go to some of the no-frills type stores, where you can pick a cardboard box from a bin and use that instead. If I had the option, I'd ask for a paper bag, but, wierdly, if I take my own lunch somewhere I say I'm 'brown baggin' it'. Hmm...

we don't use either,.. .

We'll just say which softdrink we want, or just ask for a softdrink. .

Funny though, my cousins in Rochester use "pop" or actually it kinda sounds like "pap" Ahhh, you americans and your funny english accents,,, ;)

Now dont think i could live without my irn bru!!!!
How would i grow up to be big and strong!?! :joke:
