What do you think the most underrated "common" fish is?

Scissortail tetra. They don't photograph well but it's a fascinating school to watch in a community tank or along with some other focal point fish.

I'd also have to say goldfish are both underrated and under-appreciated by most folks..... IMO.

Angel fish, really common, but how many people know about how much personality they have or how large/beautiful they grow to be.

I'd say bettas. Not too many people know how amusing and intelligent they are, on account on how they're sold in those tiny little cups. Then to make things worse, they take the bettas home and stick them in a tiny little bowl/jar, where they can't show their personalities off to their full potential. A betta in a 5 or ten gallon tank is a totally different (happier?) fish!

diamond tetras (you know how much i wanted those)
apistos
most types of botiine loaches, everyone seems to think clown when you say loach but i adore my different botiines
goldies (because i absolutely love them)
rummy nose tetras
cherry barbs
bettas (everyone seems to keep them but so few people them in big luxurious tanks where they always seem to flourish)
