I finally stock my ten gallon tank with:

2 Dwarf Gouramis
4 Pristella Tetras
2 Green Cories
1 Algae Eater



I all of your wise opinions could I add any more of these fish to my tank or I am I filled. I just got into this hobby and all I want to do is go and buy more fish. I would like to add more of the Pristella tetras and some more of the cories. Maybe also more of the gouramis. Also could I add a different species of cories to the tank or should I stick with the same species if I add more?

The corys will want company. At least 3-4 total. I think the green corys (emeralds?) grow to the large size for corys but I believe you could get a couple more of a smaller type and they would school anyway (as much as they're going to school in a 10 gallon)

Is the tank planted? What type of algae eater did you get? I'm not familiar with a lot of them but with the number of fish in your tank I would be a little worried that he could get too big.

I'm new to this too and know all to well the urge to get more fish! that's why I'm moving on to "Must have more tanks"

this tank is filled enough as it is. I would hold off on your desire to get more fish. Keep this one going for a few months, and If you feel the desire to get more fish then upgrade to a larger tank. First get some basics going via by learning from this tank. I would suggest buying some books. check out this thread out, it had a list of some very good books.

if this is your firs tank learn from it then go BIGGER n get everything you want - trust me as a previous "over stocker" of a small tank (this is how i learned) it is a real pain in the ace if you over stock a small tank - you'll constanly be doing water changes n the fish will pollute the tank very quick - also you might have to add air because there are so many in there - i learned the hard way i stocked my first tank a 20 gal with a variety of fish - surprisly most made it! i have a bigger home for them now - but if i didnt do a lot of water changes it woulve gotten messy

yeah....green cories can get bigger than some other varieties, maybe some pepper cories or something like that, they get to be about 1.5" max, greens can be 3.5.

I've always disputed the "rule" that people seemed to have made up which says that Corydoras 'need' to be in shoals. This is totally not true. Infact, many [well known] authors and publishers for books/magazines related to fish and aquaria have said they dont keep cories in shoals. I have commonly added one or two to large tanks just for an added attraction...
