Son I have the ADI kit but it may have expired it is from 2006. So I heard about the tetra 6 in 1 test strips. Are they just as good? They have a great rating on Amazon.

IME strips are "almost" as accurate as API liquid tests, but not quite. They sure are fast & easy. I used to split the strips in half the long way to reduce costs...How cheap am I? Yeah, that cheap, lol.

Even in my cheapness I would not expect accurate results from a 12 year old test of either type. Time to buy new!

Liquid all the way. IME, the strips get affected by humidity and some times residue on fingers.

I've never used strips, but that is a great idea!

To the OP, I've only used the API liquid test kits.
