I am planning to make an online order from AquariumFertilizer. Would PMDD Premix is enough or I have to order others - If others, what else should I order for a planted tank?

Kindly help.

The premix PMDD is good to go, usually. The only thing missing is, KH2PO4 a phosphorous(phosphate) source. But if your tap water and/or fish food produce enough phosphtes, keeping concentrations at 1-2ppm on their own, then you dont need it.

Thanks Rizz. I would do PMDD and KH2PO4. How about calcium and iron chelate? I am just worrying over shipping cost to Cambodia.

You only need to add calcium if your water is soft and devoid of calcium and magnesium naturally. Usually a GH of 5 or higher and you dont need them. For the chelated Iron, it really depends on the plant selection and how many drops of PMDD you dose daily. There is iron already in the CSM+B, so you would have to monitor your plants for iron defieciencies, or plan ahead with your plant selection.

PMDD is good to go. Alan from aquariumfertilizer.com suggests avoiding adding phosphates. If your tank absolutely requires it, do it, but don't just do it because you think you need to.

I agree with the above post. GH Booster is great, if you need to raise your GH. Give it a test first and see how it's doing. Like Riiz said, a GH of 5 and up is fine.

The iron provided by plantex within PMDD is good for nearly all plants. All red plants should be fine. I wouldn't worry about trying to add iron to the water column. Any plants that would require additional iron would prefer a root tab instead of iron in the water column.

Thanks I will note down all your recommendations. Based on Rizz, PMDD tends to be liquid and if so it will not last me longer like powder. I am trying to be on economy front from the 3rd World. Kindly help this one last question.

The pre-mixed PMDD is a dry fert mix actually. You add a certain amount to water, to make it into a dosable liquid. What you get from aquariumfertilizer.com will last a long time. Also remember to store what you make in the fridge, to prevent mold or anything, and make sure to shake the mix well, before dosing each day.

I will make my consideration based on your recommendations. Perhaps 1 pound for each of the basic ones. Would also include 1 pound PMDD. I am off to place an order so that I can empty a little bit of my tight B. account. Thanks all for help.
