I have a tank that is 2.5 gal and has a temp of about 72F, the water is hard to very hard and I was wondering what fertilizer I should get. I am definitly going to get flourish, flourish excel, but am not sure whether I should get floourish Iron or Potassium? My plants seem to have the problem of being yellow(mature leaves of anubia) and my Java Fern is getting clear and black, should I get both fertilizers or just one of them, which one should be mandatory?

Do you think that my plants from such a small tank can just thrive on getting flourish and flourish excel? (anubia nana, java fern, marimo moss, amazon sword(root tabs), piece of water wisteria, piece of glossostigma)

Since you have a small tank it would be very economical to get the whole line of Flourish products (Flourish, Excel, Nitrogen, Potassium, Phosphorus, Iron - you can get them in 2 packs at www.drsfostersmith.com). I saw great improvement in my plants (especially my Java Ferns) since I started a regular fert schedule.

Try figuring out what your local water has in it. Since it is hard you might already have some of those chemicals. Find out if the company has a web site. They often have all that information already posted.

Im going to do a little more research, thanks for all the great links. Im still trying to find out what my plants are lacking in using the links, I'll get back to you guys on that one. Im trying to find out also what my local water contains.
