What fish are compatible with Bettas?

Well, I got him two Cory Cats for companions. But they died about 2 days later. I checked my water and there were no problems with it. I think it was the store I bought them from. It is kinda hard to find a good fish store where I live. The closest one that I was buying from was 30 minutes away

betta in 10g

My 10g tank currently has a male betta, three amano shrimp, and three otocinclus catfish. The betta will occasionally chase the otos around, but so far none of them have been eaten or overly harrassed.

Regardless, I would get plenty of cover (places to hide and/or plants) in the tank if you want to have smaller tankmates with the betta. Bettas, otos, and shrimp all like to have plenty of cover.

Until I get my RO machine he will have to live with fake plants. I have a bad case of brown algae right now. I'm also kinda limited on who his tankmates can be. I live in a small town and the closest fish store is 30 minutes away.

Why are you using RO?

The quaility of water that I have at my house is really bad. The ph is above the charts and It is relativly hard water. Plus I plan on starting a SW aquarium and I don't feel like going through the process of trying to dink around with my water to adjust it properly.

Bettas all have different personalities and temperaments. Mine did not get along with the female powder blue dwarf gouramis in my 20g. Unfortunatly, the only why to find out is to try it.
i'd have to agree with this, I have two bettas, 1 in a 55 and one in a 5. Bob in the 55 gallon is the smallest buty VERY territorial and takes on the 3 spot gouramis. he leaves the male fancy talied guppies alone though. when he was in a 1 gallon with no fish he would peck at the Ram's Horn Snail i had in there with him. but now he doens't mind them.

Blue in the 5 has about 20 fancy tailed guppies and could care or less.
