I picked the african cichlids but my Oscars seem to really be the one's who have lot's of personality and attitude. Although I do think one of my plecos has quiet the pesonality, he even lets me hand feed him and pet his head. The clowns are also full of fun personality, esp when mine lay on their sides to sleep. Very cute I have a huge tire track eel who also has a great personality esp when it's feeding time. Dang, I guess all my fish are great so hard to choose
This thread brings back some good memories of my Oscar I had a couple years ago. He would swim circles till I came over to put my hand in the tank. He would eat from my hand and constantly brush up against my hand, he was about 12", in the tank with African Cichlids and a large plecko. The plecko was cool too, if the other guys got too rowdy and fighting he would swim up and give em all an education then all would be calm. Called him "Peace keeper". Had to give them all away due to relocating. Sad day.
Not entirely sure really, my angels dance about for me and sit still so I can examine their fins for damage (old habit of mine from keeping bettas) However my bettas are a moody bunch when it suits them, as three of the males will bite my fingers when they're annoyed and I'm running late with their dinners. So I'd say they got some good attitude, aswell as personality.
The most personality I've ever seen in a fish personally was my senegal Bichir. He was a monster, occasionally, when someone was handfeeding him he would go past the food to go after the person's finger (too small to draw blood or cause any harm). also, he wasn't much of an ambiturner (seriously he always had trouble turning left)
I haven't owned a great variety of fish, but I find my two cory cats the most interesting. They have the coolest relationship. I know you are supposed to have 3 or more but I only have two and they seem very content with each other. I bought another one once so I would have three, but one died. I don't know their sexes so I don't know if they are mates or just best buds, but they are so funny how they are always together, resting side-by-side, swimming side-by-side, chasing each other around the tank. They remind me of two little synchronized swimmers sometimes. I'm almost afraid to buy more cory cats for fear it will disturb the relationship of the two I have.
