What Fish Should I Add???

I have a 5g tank - i know, small, but its all I have room for. I currently have a zebra danio and 2 panda corys in there. I was thinking of adding one of the following combos:

1) 1 zebra and 1 panda cory

2) 2 panda corys

3) 2 other type of corys

I do many water changes and have cycled my tank with good filtration, so I think I can handle a total of 5 relatively small fish.

Your tank is overcrowded. With a five gallon tank, I don't think you have enough room for cory cats. Cory cats require a larger tank at the least they should have a 15 gallon. You wouldn't have to do as much water changes, too.

If I get a bigger tank, and you were adding a 3rd cory - would you get a panda again to go with the other 2 or could I change it up and get one of their cousins?

If any of your choices, I would pick the first one: 1 zebra and 1 panda.

If you do add them, you would have to maintain the tank by chaning water very often, like every other day at 40-50 percent to keep the water up to your stocking ratio. If possible, upgrade to at least a 10 or go as big as you can. A ten or fifteen gallon isn't much bigger, but it will at least accomoadate your stock. I bet the place where you keep your five gallon can also hold a ten gallon.

I would stick with the same kind of cory. IME they don't really school much with other types, only their own

I agree with the previous posts... try to get a bigger tank and stick with the same type of cory, they should be in groups of their own kind. You will see more natural behavior that way and they will be more enjoyable to watch. I do not think you should add any more fish to your 5 gallon but that is just my opinion.

Thanks for your input -- I will probably keep just the 3 fish for now, and maybe add 1 more panda with the ammonia and nitrate levels at 0.

its ok, brown usually means fertilized, white is fungus (remove any and all white ones)

besides corys doing well in groups of the same type. other types get bigger than the pandas I. you definitely couldn't fit them. I never had a panda bt I hear they are small.
