Well, if this is your 55g tank, and by "clown", you mean clown loach, I'd vote for all of the above.

A common pleco should achieve about 2ft in length, the Balas about 16", the clown loaches over a foot. All of those fish are a bit large for a 55g tank for any sort of extended period of time.

i have a 50 gallon keepin fish for about a year
i have in my tank
1 blgk
2clownloaches
2 common plecos that im gettin rid of
1 farlowella** catfish
3 khuli loaches
2 bala sharks which i am getting rid of soon
2 guppys and 5 tetras

I too would vote for all of those guys. The clowns and balas need large groups to be happy and that tank just won't be able to hold them. The clowns will grow slowly so you could probably hold onto them the longest. And most petstores sell large healthy clowns for good money. So maybe get rid of the pleco and balas and hold the clowns until they start to get larger and then get rid of them.
