Unfortunately right now moving the plecos or the baby brigs out of the tank isn't really an option. The plecos are no longer than an adult shrimp so they're still pretty small and any of my fish in my tanks would not hesitate to make a meal out of them. Though I don't intend to keep all of them I would rather not take the chance with them. Same deal with the brigs. I did put 3 of the 10 in my Multi tank, but I really don't want to put any more in there. *sigh* I was a little leary of putting the plecos in the tank but I didn't realize when I won them how small they were going to be. Not really a big deal, I will enjoy watching them grow, I just didn't plan on putting them in the invert tank. Since I'm going to be out of town for 4 days for Christmas I have been "experimenting" with the water parameters. I put them in on Friday and checked the parameters daily until finally doing a water change on the following Friday. At that point the nitrates were over 10 but not quite to 20 with no ammo or nitrites. So this lead me to believe that I shouldn't have a problem while I'm gone. This week I'm doing daily water changes on all tanks to sort of "prepare" them for my being gone. That being said about the water parameters, I have 2 Julii cories in my 20 long (I know, I need to get more for them to be happy. That will come after Christmas.) that I could probably put in there for a couple of days and not have water issues. Think a couple of days would be enough time for the cories to cut the worm population down substantially? It sounds like I'm going to have to remove all occupants and swap out my substrate to get rid of them. :angryfire: Not something I look forward to. I guess that may give me the opportunity to rid the tank of the ramshorn snails too. *sigh sigh sigh* I guess I will keep my fingers crossed in hopes of getting a new tank for Christmas. I really had my hopes up on setting up a dwarf puffer tank if I did. Guess that idea goes out the door for a while. LoL
Let this be a lesson about feeding fish live worms! :wall:
